Reply with quote | #1 | I love quotes. I figured I'd start a quote thread here for anyone to add to if they want.
I'm gonna start out with several of my favorites on a few subjects:
"People are afraid of their reality; their feelings. People talk about how great love is, but that's bullshit. Love hurts, love kills you. Feelings are disturbing. People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they're afraid to feel? Pain is meant to shock us. People try to hide their pain. People try to mask it and push it aside. But they're wrong. Pain is something we need to carry, like a camera. You gain your strength in the experience of pain. It's all in how you feel it. That's what matters. Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you. Your own reality. If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you're letting society destroy your reality. You should stand up for your right to feel your pain." ~Jim Morrison
"Forget about likes and dislikes. They are of no consequence. Just do what must be done. This may not be happiness, but it is greatness." ~George Bernard Shaw
"The aim of the wise is not to secure pleasure, but to avoid pain." ~Aristotle
“Reasonable people adapt themselves to the world. Unreasonable people attempt to adapt the world to themselves. All progress, therefore, depends on unreasonable people.” ~George Bernard Shaw
"It will never be possible by pure reason to arrive at some absolute truth." ~Werner Heisenberg, Physics and Philosophy
"Liberty has never come from the government. Liberty has always come from the subjects of it. The history of liberty is a history of resistance." ~Woodrow Wilson
"I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations." ~James Madison, speech, Virginia Convention, 1788
"Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. And their grandchildren are once more slaves." ~D.H. Lawrence, Classical American Literature, 1922
"For what avail the plough or sail, or land or life, if freedom fail?" ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
----------------------------- There are so many more...

It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But the work is now much more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto determination practiced in past centuries."
