Good day!

My wife was an employee at the FTD headquarters located in Downers Grove, IL until she got fired after being diagnosed with cancer and able to work as tolerated.  Currently she is undergoing a stem cell transplant at Loyola Medical Center in Chicago in which we have to pay for our own medical insurance for this illness through COBRA because of FTD firing her.  I am not looking for assistance from my fellow CraigsList users, but anything would help if you are able.  More importantly, I would like your comments on this.

For a company that is a support basis for people in emotional need, whether it be a death or a sickness in a family, it really only comes down to making the mighty DOLLAR above all else.

Please help in spreading the word on this company and use other means to send flowers to your love ones as a tribute to cancer and other life changing illnesses and events around the world.

What a day! After FTD let me go, I filed for unemployment. This is for everyone to keep in the back of your mind if you ever get sick. (I hope you don't!)

I applied on the advice of a friend and we did not see a reason for me not to get unemployment, I did not quit, they let me go. So I got my notice in the mail that I had been denied. The reason, because I am not able to work 40 hours a week or at a moments notice. Under Dr's orders I can work as tolerated, so I am able to work and would have been at work for almost a month now had I not been let go. The lady at unemployment told me to file for disability with Social Security, so I looked into that and was told because I was just partially disabled and could still work, I did not qualify for that.

So to make a long story short FTD SUCKS and I just wanted everyone to know that. They really gave me a hard way to go. If you are going to order flowers or gifts, please choose someone else to order from besides FTD, Butterfield Blooms, anything that has to do with FTD. Go 1-800 flowers, teleflora, pro flowers, just not FTD. And thank you for your support!

Gina
